Learning and Wellness Lead (12 months contract… maternity cover)

Job title  : Learning and Wellness Lead

Hours  : 9.00am–3.00 pm Mon–Fri (with 1/2 hr unpaid lunch break)

                 9.00am–1.00 pm Sat (av. one Sat in four)  = 28.5 hrs/week  

Salary  : £8.93 per hr and matching contribution to pension up to 7.5% of earnings after a 90 day probation period.     

Bridge Wellness Gardens is a registered charity on Mill Lane in Ellesmere Port which providesa therapeutic environment for clients and volunteers coping with mental health and life-long learning difficulties, and outdoor study and work experience for young people struggling at school.

The Learning and Wellness Lead outline Job Description:  

Reporting to the General Manager, you will help to devise and develop learning and horticulture therapy programs to serve the needs of local children, young people and adults, particularly those with mental health and life-long learning and physical disabilities.  You will develop personal programs for each student and well-being client according to their needs and aspirations, and work with volunteers including mentors to carry out these programs.  

You will also play a key role by working closely with the other Leads to ensure a collaborative approach to the day-to-day running of the Wellness Gardens.  From time to time you will act as ‘Duty Day Leader’ on a Rota basis when the General Manager is off site. 

Above all you will contribute at all times to the happy, supportive, varied and entertaining atmosphere at Bridge Wellness Gardens, always focusing on our prime objective, which is to “grow better lives”.

Voluntary Positions


Bridge Wellness Gardens (BWG) provides a therapeutic environment for those with learning difficulties and mental health issues, offering outdoor study facilities for children and young people. We also help to create jobs for the long-term unemployed and work experience that helps toward gaining life skills.


We are alway recruiting for voluntary positions such as : 

Support Mentors to assist with our market stalls,

Veg box delivery drivers, 

On site client one 2 one support, 

Cafe members and much much more!


All our  voluntary position are located on our first Wellness Garden and Farm in Ellesmere Port,
