What Ho, happy Bridge Veg Box supporters, friends and customers. I know!! Not all of you have a veg box on order for every week, but I'm including you in the distribution of our weekly newsletter 'cos I want to keep you up to date with happenings at Bridge Wellness Gardens and Bridge Community Farms.... and I want to feed your need to get to know us a little better!
So how is your week going?! Ours is another roller coaster of emotions; some challenging in the extreme.... and many rewarding to a blessed level. I'm going to spare you the details of our emotional challenges. Clair and I have many principles in common. One of them is "a trouble shared is a trouble doubled!" So we'll gloss over those.
But instead let me share with you some of the uplifting emotional experiences of the week so far. We were graced with several welcome visitors to the cafe and farm on Saturday morning. Our Jim was in charge and cooking the bacon for the yummy bacon baps. Got distracted by some guys who'd never been to Bridge before, and Jim launched into accounts of some of the fun things that happen there.... and he burnt the bacon!!! He came to me to apologise, but I congratulated him. I LOVE crispy bacon!!
The real joy of Saturday's visitors, and those who came to us for the first time during the week, was the flow of genuine praise for what our little team achieves... the evident joy on the faces and in the voices of our lovely wellness clients... the quality of our new seasons food crops... in a word our generous visitors have all been "gobsmacked" by what they've seen and felt this week.
Clair and I, and our colleagues and volunteers, thank you, kind visitors, for your very warm comments and encouragement. Such endorsement really does mean a lot to us. Clair said to me today " Isn't it lovely to see our place through the eyes of someone coming here for the first time!!" So it is Clair, and so it is a great compliment to what you have achieved.
And I want to include those of you who have taken the trouble to e-mail us this week. Even when you've had a helpfully constructive criticism to make (some of the kale was very yellow)(We left your box in the wrong place)...you've found time and space to congratulate us on what we're doing for our wonderful wellness clients, and for the quality of our veg boxes.... (and sometimes even for the quality of our service!) Thank you! I meant it when I say that your encouragement is like fuel to our engine.
So thank you for helping us to "Grow Better Lives".
NOW.. it's your turn to do something for us!!
